First and foremost it comes down to the type of bathroom you are creating. Is it a family bathroom that will have multiple daily users, an ensuite with one to two users or a small powder room? These questions will help you understand how the space will be used day to day and in turn help with designing a bathroom layout that works for you.
The floor plan is a great place to start when brainstorming your bathroom layout ideas. This will help you visualise how much space you have to work with and where important features should sit in relation to the doors and windows.
A floor plan is also a great way to determine how many wet wall’s you will need in a room. Can your sink, shower/bath and toilet fit along one wet-wall, or do they need to be separated across two or three walls? While the size of your bathroom may determine this from the get-go, your budget may also come into play when making this decision as it is cheaper to have one wet wall as opposed to three.
